I like how you mentioned that you’ll want to repeat the cycle of pushing yourself and a car to the limit around a racetrack over and over again. My brother is thinking of looking for timing stands because he noticed last week that the racing team he’s apart of wasn’t getting an accurate racer reading with the stand they have now. I think it’s a good idea for my brother to consider buying equipment from a reputable company to aid his racing team during important events.

Like Mario Andretti, Allen never quit. If one door closed, he found another . . . so long as he kept racing. Unfortunately as a Canadian he lacked the wealthy backers that supported American race teams in the great era from the 1950s through the eighties.

Great story and nice for Allen to find the car that started it all. Lovely photos too in period. I will get to the racing school this year – I must. Nearly got there last year / year before and Allen was gracious enough to have a telephone conversation with me at the time. I spent a season in FF1600 in South Africa in 1985 /86 and still have the bug, both for single seater and rallying. Congratulations ALEX
